Area Sales Manager (Queensland/ Papua New Guinea)

Job Purpose:

  • Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, this position is based in Brisbane with the main responsbility of actively seeking out and developing new business opportunities, with both the existing customer base and new clients, within the Process Automation division.
  • The individual must be able to work autonomously, as well as be part of a geographically diverse sales team, and manage an established Queensland customer base and emerging PNG market

Major Accountabilities:

  • Generate new sales lead and developing new customers and accounts
  • Maintain good relationships and build up new value with existing customers and accounts
  • Design and manage customer incentive packages to win new and expand existing business
  • Provide technical and commercial presentations, recommendations and solutions as required to the customer
  • Follow up with customer enquiries, and quotations
  • Updating and maintaining the company CRM system with respect to accounts, contact details, visit reports, appointments and opportunity management
  • Work closely with internal Customer Support on order fulfillment and processing
  • Continuous monitoring of the market and competition

Job Specification

  • Sound knowledge of industrial markets and a relevant trade qualification would be highly regarded
  • Self-motivated individual with excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Able to represent the company in a professional manner, with the ability to identify and develop long-term business relationships and familiar with the Queensland & PNG industrial markets and regional centres
  • 3 to 5 years field sales or service experience gained within in the industrial process automation and or hazardous area markets
  • Good analytical and PC skills
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team
