Sales Specialist, Interface - Process Automation (PA), Japan

Role Purpose:

  • Responsible for implementing a region wide business plan to develop and grow the market leading its product portfolio in the PA Division
  • Identify new business potential both with the PA components and complete solutions working closely with the sales teams or distributors in the region
  • Contribute in creating and maintaining good customer relationships and ensuring smooth sales team operations
  • Responsible for the PA portfolio for its assigned region ensuring we have the portfolio needed to continue our success

The overall success of this role will rely on his/her ability to communicate with all levels of stakeholders in the Process Automation and Explosion protection market in Japan.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Develop a thorough working knowledge of the P+F PA Interface and its solutions offerings
  • Define/develop and support the overall distributor network for PA Interface and its solutions
  • Develop strong working relationships with End User and System Integrator customers in each country
  • Documentation via the P+F CRM system for all above mentioned activities
  • Support sales opportunities on large and international projects at proposal and execution stage with P+F Global Project Pursuit (GPP) staff and P+F area managers
  • Support internal and external customers as required
  • Understanding of international and local process automation standards, preferable knowledge of hazardous areas
  • Self-manage all travel and customer related activities in line with a set budget
  • Effectively interact with the various P+F affiliates and factories across the region to co-ordinate correct product offer and sales forecasting

Role Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification from a reputable University in Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the Process Industries throughout Japan, with strong market knowledge on electromechanical products for explosion protection
  • Excellent inter-personal, written and verbal communication and presentation skills both in Japanese and English 
  • Extensive business management skills with experience managing and coordinating area sales managers and project teams
  • Experience and capabilities to promote and sell PA Interface and its solutions into hazardous area applications (control & instrumentation; electrical & installation)
  • Knowledge and experience of process control methods and instrumentation including relevant legislation (ATEX, IECEx, Hazardous Area protection techniques and other local certification requirements within ASIA) is highly regarded
  • Self-motivated, good time-management skills, team player and ability to persuade and influence others
  • Ambitious, hands-on and results oriented for responsible KPIs
  • Ability to prioritize work items based on business requirements, and effectively escalates issues when and where appropriate
  • Excellent organization and multi-tasking capabilities with ability to work autonomously and under pressure
  • Computer literate with experience in using CRM system
  • Disciplined, trustworthy and able to handle confidential information with discretion
