The Pepperl+Fuchs location in Amberg has also seen plenty of physical activity in recent months. Employees there put on their running shoes and hit the course not once, but twice.
A team of eleven employees from the Pepperl+Fuchs site in Amberg geared up for a physical challenge in May of this year, entering the Amberg-Sulzbach district run on May 13. The run, a team relay, is the largest amateur sports event in the district, drawing a total of nearly 2,000 participants. Decked out in Pepperl+Fuchs running shirts and displaying considerable stamina, the “Pepperl+Fuchs Stoppelhopser” clocked up a whopping 52.8 kilometers altogether. The course started in Ehenfeld and then proceeded over eleven stages to the finish in Kirchenreinbach. “Everyone had a great time on the run,” says Tobias Roth from Pepperl+Fuchs in Amberg. “We came in 111th overall out of 178 teams. We would have liked to be among the top 100, but we were really focusing on having fun and on the group experience more than our actual performance.” Employees gathered in the festival tent afterward for drinks to celebrate their achievement.
Biggest company excursion in the area
A Pepperl+Fuchs team also hit the ground running at this year’s Amberg-Sulzbach corporate run in early July. Billed as the “biggest company excursion in the area,” the event’s motto was “healthy companies run longer.” This year, more than 1,700 running enthusiasts showed up to prove their fitness. Pepperl+Fuchs’ turnout was especially strong, with 13 employees entering the run this year – nearly half of the entire team at the Amberg location. The run was held after work, taking runners along a circular route of over 4.8 kilometers in the Untersollen area, with about 100 meters of altitude. “It was a fairly hilly course, which was a challenge for some of our colleagues this time around,” Roth says. “But in the end, everyone crossed the finish line cheering and happy.”
