Mannheim is taking the lead – as a pilot city in Europe for the Local Green Deal, the city is sending a strong signal for a sustainable future. The initiative “iDEAL for Mannheim” brings together politics, business, administration, and citizens to jointly create a livable city. As a company with global responsibility for environmental and climate protection, we, Pepperl+Fuchs, are also proud to make a contribution to this important change.
Sustainability as a corporate philosophy
At Pepperl+Fuchs, we develop innovative solutions in the field of electrical explosion protection and industrial sensor technology. But our commitment goes far beyond technological innovations – we are actively committed to a sustainable economy. Our goal is not only to design our products in a resource-conserving manner, but also to raise awareness among our employees for sustainable consumption and resource conservation.
Recycling electrical devices – a practical contribution to climate protection
One of our most recent measures is the environmental campaign “Private Collection of Used Electrical Devices”. Pepperl+Fuchs employees have the opportunity to dispose of old and defective electrical devices directly on the company premises. In cooperation with Stadtraumservice Mannheim, we ensure proper disposal and the recycling of valuable materials. Instead of storing unused devices at home or disposing of the incorrectly in household waste, our employees actively help close the loop of valuable materials.
Recognition by the city of Mannheim
Our commitment to sustainability has now been officially recognized: As part of the reopening of the U-Hall, Mayor Christian Specht awards Pepperl+Fuchs the Local Green Deal plaque for the first time among 38 other companies. This award underlines that our commitment to climate, nature and environmental protection goes beyond the legal requirements and motivates us for the future.
The Local Green Deal in Mannheim shows how important it is to work together for a climate-neutral and livable city.
