Sonepar Apprentice Days: Supplier Tour to Pepperl+Fuchs in Mannheim

Learning, networking, and experiencing together: On June 24 and 25, 2026, the Sonepar Apprentice Days took place at the Pepperl+Fuchs headquarters in Mannheim. The aim was to provide knowledge about the world of Pepperl+Fuchs while also promoting interaction between the apprentices of both companies.

For many years, Sonepar has been an important strategic partner of Pepperl+Fuchs. As a wholesaler, Sonepar sells Pepperl+Fuchs products through its network, thereby contributing to the companys’s market presence.

The goal of the Sonepar Apprentice Days at Pepperl+Fuchs was to further strengthen this partnership, particularly at an early stage. During the two days, participants gained valuable knowledge about sensor technology and the world of Pepperl+Fuchs. Another key focus was networking between Sonepar apprentices and Pepperl+Fuchs apprentices and dual-study students.

A varied program – A mixture of theory and praxis

After a welcome session, a general introduction to Pepperl+Fuchs, and a more detailed explanation of the strategic partnership, the apprentices of Sonepar were divided into four groups. During the two-day event, they rotated through four different stations, where they gained exciting insights into the company and had the opportunity to get hands-on experience:

  1. Quality Assurance tour: A colleague from the Quality Assurance department guided the participants through the testing and environmental laboratory, providing interesting insights intop topics such as ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and environmental testing.
  2. Soldering station: At the soldering station, the Sonepar apprentices built their own electronic dice shaker, which they were able to take home as a souvenir. Our apprentices and dual-study students introduced the activity and supported the participants throughout the entire process.
  3. Game station: In the training workshop, participants explored Pepperl+Fuchs sensor technology through a variety of interactive games that had been designed and built by Pepperl+Fuchs apprentices and dual-study students. This station was also supervised by them.
  4. Workshop: During the workshop, the Sonepar apprentices received an introduction to the Pepperl+Fuchs product portfolio. Using demonstration cases and various setups, participants were able to connect and test the sensors themselves.

Filled with many new impressions, practical experiences, and exciting encounters, the two varied days came to a successful close.
