The Diversity Blind Dates continue! In the second part of our blog series, you can read more personal experiences from our colleagues at Pepperl+Fuchs.
Christine: “I’ve been working at Pepperl+Fuchs for almost 27 years, and unfortunately, I know very few colleagues outside my immediate working environment. The Blind Date gave me the opportunity to meet new people and gain new perspectives. In my day-to-day work, I deal with a lot of figures and data. I enjoy that, but I realized that I was missing the interaction and exchange with other people. I was also curious and looking forward to connecting with a colleague I probably would never have started a conversation with otherwise.”
Matthias: “The Diversity Blind Date was a great experience for me. Gender equality and working in diverse teams are two classic aspects of diversity that are particularly important to me. I’m constantly surrounded by strong women – both in my daily work as a Social Media Manager in Marketing and at home with my wife and our two daughters. During our conversation, Antonia shared insights from her many years of working in Singapore and her experience in a leadership role, with a particular focus on working with people from different cultural backgrounds and on neurodiversity.”
Lisa: “I took part in the Diversity Blind Date because I wanted to look beyond my own bubble. We often work with our own little world, so it was really interesting to hear about projects in other areas that I would otherwise know nothing about. Thank you very much for the great idea of the Diversity Blind Date.”
Pepperl+Fuchs team spirit
Judith: “The conversation went really well. I t was very interesting to get to know different perspectives and learn more about the day-to-day work of colleagues from other areas of the company – especially those you don’t normally have much contact with. Thank you for organizing the Diversity Blind Date. We would be very happy to have similar opportunities in the future.”
Christian: “Even though we are both “white men”, as we are often called in the media in the context of diversity, we also had some really interesting conversations about diversity and integration. I only joined Pepperl+Fuchs on January 1 and I’m very happy, that I had this opportunity. I really enjoy the collegial atmosphere and how easy it is to connect with people across departments, levels of hierarchy, locations, and countries. My role is international, so I already have a food network across the company. I am still genuinely impressed by how much Pepperl+Fuchs team spirit you can feel in every conversation and every meeting.”
Interesting people and talks
Reiner: “Elena and I met for our Diversity Blind Date and talked about absolutely everything. We got so caught up in our conversation that we almost forgot about the time. It was really great getting to know Elena. There are so many interesting people at Pepperl+Fuchs. It’s a shame that we tend to stay in our own little bubbles most of the time. That’s why I’m really glad I took part in the Diversity Blind Date.”
Steliana: “I found the Diversity Blind Date was a great initiative. My blind date was actually with a colleague with whom I had already worked. Even so, it was really nice to exchange idea. We both agreed that diversity and inclusion are already lived at a very high level in our company, thanks to our great colleagues. We also took the opportunity to catch up on what we’re currently working on.”
