Job purposes

• Based in the Supplier Quality Management and Incoming Quality Control (SQM+ IQC) team within the Quality Department in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam - the company is looking for a subject matter expert in measuring solutions using different measurement equipment and to develop a strong and capable team through efficient and effective processes to support internal/external customers.

• The successful person is required to drive alignment of measuring methodology between internal/external suppliers to achieve the knowledge of each gap and provide solutions to achieve stable and sustainable verification methodology at both our Company and the suppliers’ site.

Major Accountabilities

All accountabilities are relevant for SQM+IQC in VN1.

1. Participate, develop and propose strategy for the SQM+IQC, what measurement equipment is necessary, personal planning, and yearly budgets 
2. System Management:  
   • Align and optimize quality related business processes
   • Ensure sustainability for work safety and 5S, and ESD work area compliance to company’s requirements 
3. Resource/Organization Management: 
   • Manage SQM+IQC Vietnam Team, and be responsible for the budget planning, resource planning and attendance management 
   • Align and execute contingency resource management as and when necessary
4. Performance Management:
   • Align operational goals cascaded from Regional Functional Manager to the team 
   • Develop a capable team to achieve operational KPIs & quality improvement projects 
   • Establish and maintain Shop floor boards to monitor performance, to mentor and to report in the regional shop floor board.
5. Supplier quality management:
   • Prepare, monitor and verify yearly audit program is traceable and available. 
   • Ensure the team to generate comprehensive supplier audit report and follow up on action items
6. Material complaint management
   • Drive team on supplier complaint management, ensure customer and internal complaints are analyse before issuance of supplier complaint. 
   • Organize and lead quality escalated meetings with relevant participants to drive quality improvements on raw material and merchandize part
   • Develop the knowledge of manufacturing-processes and 8D to the team
7. First Article Evaluation (external) 
   • Assure the quality of drawing related parts with intention to only release parts acc. specification. 
   • Support engineers/technician for escalated first article qualification topics, ensure the team to develop inspection plan acc. specification 
   • Perform risk assessment on escalated cases to decide next activities required, work with Singapore team on First Article topics to ensure quality of raw material are maintained during mass release stage. 
8. Incoming Quality Control (IQC)
   • Drive team IQC for inspecting received goods from third party supplier acc 
   • Plan and ensure measurement equipment and tools are according needed measurement demands, accuracy and capability, are calibrated and well maintained. 
   • Measurement equipment and tools covers typical measurement demands in the subsidiaries derived from the produced product-portfolio and its raw material. 
   • Develop team members and the succession pipeline, and align with SEA team on IQC work processes
9. Dimensional Lab
   • Drive team in dimensional lab for creation of digital twin and programming using the GOM system to achieve a decision on the quality of parts 
   • Ensure measurement equipment and tools are according needed measurement demands, accuracy and capability, are calibrated and well maintained
   • Ensure and decide on the priority in case of urgency for each request from internal customers 
   • Develop team members by guidance and external training etc. to handle their quality assurance tasks satisfactorily, and to develop the succession pipeline 
   • Alignment with HU team on Dimensional Laboratory work processes
10. Measuring Lab Tasks
    • Manage and supervise a small team in the Measuring Lab which includes projects/operations and KPI 
    • Define, plan, coordinate and implemente tests, measurement systems, procedures and processes 
    • Maintain professional training materials, supervision of the training matrix, technical supervision and support for the measurement technicians and engineers. 
    • Prepare the measuring methods and programs, organize and upload measurement reports and test reports in the company's documentation system 
    • Develop measuring room, purchasing new equipment, maintaining and supervising existing equipment
11. Miscellaneous 

Job Specifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electronic/ Mechatronics/ Electrical/ Quality) 
• Minimum 7 years of working experience in an international manufacturing setup, of which at least 1 year of Laboratory/ Measurement Room experience
• At least 2 years in leadership position    
• Strong English proficiency (both written and spoken) is a must for this position
• Proficiency in a local Asian language (e.g. Vietnamese) is highly regarded.
• Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) which relates to 3D measurement methodology is essential for this role
• Knowledge in using quality tools (i.e. Fishbone Diagrams, 5-Whys, 8D, Gage R&R, FMEA, SPC, etc.); in ISO9001 quality system requirements and basic Microsoft Office applications
• Experience in handling supplier in the region, exposure to different manufacturing processes of precision parts (i.e. CNC/ machining/ stamping/ molding) as well as working with different types of materials are an added advantage
• Experience with 3D measurements / programming (CMM) and CAD-CAM software are welcomed
• Able to work independently as well as in a team setting, and comfortable interacting with all levels of internal and external stakeholders
