FAQ – All issues related to application,
apprenticeships and dual system studies

Do you still have questions regarding your application or the application process? You can find answers to the most important questions here. You are obviously also welcome to get in touch with us personally. Click here for a list of contacts.

This section also provides answers to questions in and around our apprenticeships and dual studies programs.

  • Are all of the positions listed in the jobs section still available?

All of the positions listed are still vacant, but it is possible that an application process is already in progress. We do, however, frequently use the same job description to find candidates for several positions. In those cases, the job posting is not deleted until all of the positions have been filled successfully. As a result, you may see some positions posted for a longer period.

  • Can I call ahead of time to get information about a position?

If you have any questions that are not covered in the job description, please feel free to contact the employee named in the job posting.

  • How do I apply?

It’s quick and easy to apply using our online form. You can send us your application documents as electronic attachments together with the contact form.

If you would still prefer to send us your application by e-mail or regular mail, please send your complete application documents to your local contact.

You can use the following file formats for your attachments: *.pdf, *.jpg. All attachments together should not exceed the maximum size of 5 MB.

  • What should I keep in mind when using the contact form to apply?

It is best if you combine your documents into a PDF file, but please make sure all attachments together do not exceed the combined limit of 5 MB.

  • What file formats can I attach when I apply?

You can use *.pdf and *jpg as file format for your attachments. All attachments together should not exceed the maximum size of 5 MB.

  • How do I find out whether my application has in fact been received?

Shortly after you submit your application, you will receive an e-mail confirming receipt.

  • What happens to my personal information?

We save your application electronically and treat it in accordance with the provisions of the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz). For more information, please read our data protection and privacy information. Data and documents are disclosed only to people who are directly involved with the selection process. If you have submitted a general application for positions that become available later, your profile is also reviewed on a cross-location basis with our departments.

  • How soon will I hear back about my application?

Since your application documents will be reviewed by both the HR department and the specific department in which the job is located, it is difficult to say precisely how long this takes. But since we know from experience that applicants are interested in hearing back as soon as possible, our employees make every effort to process applications quickly. If it will take longer to issue a decision, we will let you know in advance.

  • Who will process my application? Is there a specific contact person?

For every job posting, there is a contact person listed right in the relevant posting. If you are submitting a general application for positions that become available later, please see the list of contacts.

  • Can I submit a general application for positions that become available later?

If you do not find a suitable job listed in our job postings, you are welcome to apply without referring to a specific posted position. We consider these applications alongside applications submitted for specific positions. For this type of application, please tell us about the focus of your training and studies, your experience, and what you are looking for. The fastest, most convenient option is to use our online general application for non-specific positions. You are also welcome to send your complete application by e‑mail or mail.

  • When should I apply?

Our positions for recent graduates and working professionals are generally filled right away. We accept applications until we have found a suitable candidate. Students who are approaching graduation should apply about 3–4 months before graduating.

  • What should my cover letter say?

Your cover letter should be brief and to the point (not more than one sheet of paper). Let us know the exact title of the job for which you are applying (or, if you are submitting a general application for consideration as positions become available, your field of interest) and how you heard about us. Tell us why you are interested in the position, and convince us of why you are the right one for the job and for our company.

  • What kinds of academic records and references are important?

Please enclose your diploma and certificate of formal vocational training or degree certificate. References from your previous employers are also important.

  • Can I apply again if my application is rejected?

Of course! Even if your application is rejected for one position, you are welcome to apply again for other positions that interest you.
